Imagine designing a piece of furniture and having it created by industry experts within 24 hours. Starting this month, entrepreneurs Neil Patel and Raj Bharti will make that vision a reality. Their new startup, Print the Future, will manufacture custom furnishings and accessories that can be delivered anywhere in the world, thanks to state-of-the-art 3-D printing technology. "Print the Future will offer a level of variety, customization, and speed across the globe that has not been possible," says Patel. "3-D printing will not only accelerate manufacturing, it will also make the customized furniture more affordable and environmentally friendly."
The company's NYC pop-up, designed in collaboration with Lori Dennis, opens on March 2 at 325 W. 38th Street. "Our patrons can watch furniture being 3-D printed right in front of their eyes," Bharti explains. Visitors will also get the chance to enter to win a free piece of high-quality 3-D printed furniture, enjoy a free drink from the coffee bar, and tour the pop-up with industry experts. Guests will learn about modern interior design trends, the future of 3-D printing, and why the method is disrupting the home furnishings market. Print the Future also plans to open stores in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Austin, and Miami.
